Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Sitwise, a macOS menu-bar app from EthicsLab Limited (“EthicsLab”, “we”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16870606.
The app
Sitwise estimates sitting posture on your Mac using the camera and Apple Vision. It scores the current sit against a posture you save on that Mac. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Use it as a desk reminder, not as clinical advice.
No account
Sitwise does not require an EthicsLab account. Settings and the saved sit live on your Mac. If you delete the app, that local data goes with it.
Your responsibilities
You need a compatible Mac (macOS 14 or later) and a camera you are allowed to use. You are responsible for granting or refusing camera and notification permission in System Settings. Do not use Sitwise where filming people without their knowledge would be unlawful or unwelcome.
Intellectual property
Sitwise, the sitting-figure mark, and the product copy are owned by EthicsLab Limited. These terms do not transfer ownership. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or rebrand the app except as allowed by applicable law.
Availability
We may update Sitwise, change features, or stop distributing it. Camera, lighting, and desk distance affect the score. A 100 is your saved sit, not a universal standard.
Limitation of liability
Sitwise is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EthicsLab is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including discomfort, missed notifications, or a score you disagree with. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Privacy
How Sitwise handles information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law in your country requires otherwise.
